Chapter 14 Book Club

Hey, you found us! So good to see you here. This is a book club for those who want to make the world a better place right in their own backyards (to shamelessly steal a phrase from Paul Wheaton). We’ll explore titles both directly and indirectly related to Permaculture on a variety of subtopics including gardening and farming, herbalism, indigenous cultures, environmental and climate justice, natural living, and social justice… and probably many more.

While some of our reading will be of the conventional read-and-discuss sort, it’s our intention that a healthy portion of our reading will be really active. What that means is that we will be experimenting with what we read, implementing ideas, and discussing how they worked (or didn’t) for each of us, positing ideas for further modifications of those ideas.

Titles and reading “assignments” will be posted here on our Facebook Group. We meet live on Zoom every Wednesday evening from 7-9 Eastern (US). That recurring link will be pinned to the top of our group, and you can also access the link from the CALENDAR. If you’re not into the title we’re reading, that’s cool. Just skip it and join us when one takes your fancy.

We will try to make each title available through our FARM STORE – online or in person. All proceeds from the sale of books supports our permaculture projects in the US and in Bulgaria.

We encourage you to participate in one of Nissa’s Permaculture Design Courses. She is developing a variety of options including LIVE basic PDC via Zoom, LIVE on-site PDCs (basic+advanced in one), and on demand self-paced online. Proceeds from those courses support Renaissance Farms’ projects in the US and Bulgaria. You can view and access those on the CALENDAR or through the FARMSCHOOL

Ready to have some fun and meet some cool people? So are we. Let’s go!
