Earth Weekend

Join us for an Earth Weekend work party on the farm!
We’ve planned a wonderful weekend for you.
SATURDAY:
Yoga Session: We’ll warm up with some yoga and set our intentions for the day.
Practical Permaculture: We’ll play “The Environment Game” to get us thinking about those things that are more or less helpful to the environment and to society.
Farm Tidying Tasks: Removing non-natural material from the fields, Organise and stack metal panels for use on Sunday. The cleanup in this area will prepare it for a cover crop of buckwheat to feed the bees this year.
Lunch
Rock Painting: We’ll paint rocks to be placed around the trail for guests to find on subsequent hikes.
Nature Hike: We’ll take a nature walk with the goats (if they are agreeable) and see what we can see is popping up in field and woodland. This is a good time to place your rocks and to make cairns for marking the trail.
Bonfire: Marshmallows, stories, and songs around the fire – however the spirit moves.
SUNDAY:
Yoga Session: We’ll warm up with some yoga and set our intentions for the day.
Practical Permaculture: We’ll play an Engle Matrix RPG to help us solve an environmental or permaculture design problem.
Recycling and Upcycling Projects: Making a fence from pallets and raised beds from metal roof panels.
Lunch
Making Seed Balls: We’ll work on making seed balls to take home. Seed balls can be set or thrown anywhere – even in an urban environment. Ours will be filled with native wildflower seed, so they won’t disturb wildlife or habitat.
Volunteer Appreciation Ceremony: At the end of the day, we will have a brief ceremony to thank volunteers for their hard work and dedication. Door prizes, too!
