LIVE YOUTH Permaculture Design Course (PDC) – Session A
28 June, 2021 @ 8:00 AM – 9 July, 2021 @ 5:00 PM EDT
This course is for students 16-19 years old, who want to make the world a better place and inspire their communities to do the same. Developed in the 1980s by Bill Mollison and David Holmgren, permaculture is:
“The conscious design and maintenance of agriculturally productive systems which have the diversity, stability, and resilience of natural ecosystems. It is the harmonious integration of the landscape with people providing their food, energy, shelter and other material and non-material needs in a sustainable way.”
But you don’t have to have a farm to practice permaculture. In fact, permaculture can be practiced ANYWHERE people live. Read more about the LIVE PDC here.
Students receive the same instruction and certification as our adult PDC students and will be enabled to design, consult, and teach. There is an optional Saturday practicum during which our students will work together to complete an on-farm permaculture project. Our PDC graduates may apply for a farm internship for the remainder of the 2021 season. Documentation of their internship experience will be provided upon request.
