We talk a lot about the importance of honeybees, and about conserving their food sources and wild ranges. Sometimes we forget about other native bees who – although they don’t make honey – provide a very valuable service to farmers and to wild places. They are under threat by many of the same things that are harming honeybees, and need our help, too.
We’ll talk about each of the native bees that live in our area, about what they like to eat, and how we can help them to thrive and be happy right in our own backyards. Each participant will build a native bee habitat to bring home and put up in the garden. Everything is included in the workshop.
This workshop is intended for families. Priced per child, parents participate for free. This workshop is intended for children 8 and up.
