We have just two species of toad here in Massachusetts. They are increasingly threatened by climate change. They’re very friendly creatures and provide pest control in our gardens and farms. They are also very important indicator species that tell us about the health of our ecosystem.
We’ll talk about each of the toad species that live in our area, about their life cycles, wild habitats and diets, and about how we can help them to thrive and be happy right in our own backyards. Each participant will build a toad habitat to bring home and put in the garden. Everything is included in the workshop.
This workshop is intended for families. Priced per child, parents participate for free. This workshop is suitable for children 8 and up.
