We’re going to be working together to build a mobile barn from an old hay wagon frame and materials taken from the waste stream and purchased locally. The barn will be used to house our Saanen does and will allow us to move them around, along with their fencing, to new areas of pasture and browse.
The barn will be designed to be rodent proof, to collect and store rainwater from the roof, and to mount solar collectors and battery banks to keep the fence charged and the water supply ice free in winter.
If there is time, we will build a second mobile barn for the bucks and wethers on one of our old camper frames, donated to us by local campgrounds.
This is a great workshop of aspiring goat or sheep farmers. This design can also be used for pastured birds of any kind.
